UP END THIS is a Vermont based lifestyle brand designing and manufacturing nomadic/relocatable architecture, furniture and wares. We are focused on creating products both large and small that provide the user a stronger connection to the reality of their place and time relevant to the social, economic and environmental constructs surrounding them. We hail from a punk rock and DIY background which is evident in our moniker and logo. We recognize that it is often the role of the artist and designer to encourage those around to see things from a new perspective in order to generate positive and lasting change. We take little for granted and look to invent new approaches to living and working towards a more sustainable and equitable lifestyle.
UP END THIS is currently planted at Generator Maker Space in Burlington Vermont where prototypes for SATELLITEs, Surveyors, Smalls and Tritops among other products are being developed for manufacture.
The owner and lead designer Michael Zebrowski, born in Buffalo NY in 1978, is the son of a truck driver and a quilter. With an education in architecture from the University at Buffalo and a Master of Architecture from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2003 his work over the last 20 years explores art, architecture and science through the lens of material culture and investigates the concept of architecture as an instrument to record time, space and experience.
